Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany. Italy
Brunello is the driest zone of Tuscany, and has a winning combination of warm days and cool nights, allowing Sangiovese to reach optimum ripeness while retaining acidity and maximising concentration. The result is one of Italy’s grandest appellations, in which Antinori bought this well sited estate in 1995.

Tasting Notes
Complex, generous nose with ripe aromas of cherries and raspberries, light tobacco notes and hints of coffee and cocoa powder. Multi-layered structure with a nicely rounded texture and elegant fruit leading to a very long finish.
The Pian delle Vigne estate covers a total area of 180 hectares, sixty-five of which are planted with vineyards, two with olive groves and the rest with fields and woodlands. The vineyard lies at between 130 and 200 metres above sea level and has a clay limestone soil rich in small stones. Only the best bunches of grapes were selected.
Press :- “Floral and raspberry aromas and flavors pick up tobacco, soy and briar components in this intense, wiry red. Lean, yet remains persistent and well-balanced, leaving a trail of spice and mineral accents.”
