Conde Valdemar Reserva, Rioja
Bodegas Valdemar is a family company whose roots date back to 1889, and whose Riojas have long been a reference point for the DO. Despite this their approach is very much forward-looking; having pioneered many techniques in the region, from barrel fermentation and temperature control to saignée-method rosado, their style tends towards the modern.

Tasting Notes
Complex aromas with subtle spicy notes and ripe black fruit touches. Potent and fleshy, taste of ripe fruits and oak. Long and persistent finish.
Unusually for Rioja, all the Valdemar grapes come from the family’s own vineyards (almost 300 hectares), giving unrivalled control over the quality of the fruit at every level. Grapes for the Reserva are grown in Oyón (Rioja Alavesa), Logroño (Rioja Alta) and Ausejo (Rioja Baja).
Awards : Gold List, Sommelier Wine Awards 2012
