Sherry, La Guita Manzanilla, Spain

Spain’s best-selling Sherry is this dry, tangy, brilliantly refreshing Manzanilla. At 15% alcohol, it is no stronger than many a red wine, and served well chilled is a great accompaniment to olives, nuts and seafood. “Guita” is Spanish for cord, and each bottle has one attached to its neck. However, the brand name “La Guita” comes from the fact that the founder always asked those interested in buying it: “Do you have guita?”, “Guita” being and old Spanish slang word for money. People thus began to call the winery by the name of “La Guita”, and it was officially registered in 1908.

Clear and fresh on the nose, with the unmistakable green apple aroma and salty tang of Manzanilla. The palate is concentrated yet thoroughly refreshing; bone dry and savoury, with notes of almonds and a long, satisfying finish.
