Chianti Superiore, Santa Cristina. Italy
The Antinori family released their first wine under the Santa Cristina name in 1946. Since then Santa Cristina has been a byword for quality and value in Tuscany – now more so than ever since the creation of a dedicated winery in 2006. The range now consists of reds and rosés from Tuscany and whites from Umbria, so the winery’s location in Cortona, southern Tuscany, is ideal.

Tasting Notes
A classic Chianti, offering aromas of red berry fruit, with vanilla and floral hints of violets. Flavoursome, medium-bodied palate, fresh in structure and with a delicious balance of fruit and savoury notes. Typical spicy sensations from the oak on the back palate.
Chianti Superiore is a relatively new DOCG that allows a high-quality wine to be sourced from several regions within the Chianti zone. The Santa Cristina is a blend of various parcels, each picked at different times according to optimum ripeness, with the Sangiovese coming in later than the Merlot.
